Patrick Sharma

Patrick Sharma is a postdoctoral fellow in the Regional Oral History Office of the Bancroft Library at UC Berkeley, where he co-directs "Slaying the Dragon of Debt," a historical research project on U.S. fiscal policy. He received a Ph.D. in U.S. and international history from UCLA in 2010. His scholarship analyzes questions of international relations, global governance, political economy, and development from a historical perspective and has appeared or is forthcoming in Diplomatic History, the SAIS Review, the Yale Journal of International Affairs, and Perspectives on History. In addition to the Berkeley Blog he has provided commentary for the Huffington Post, the San Jose Mercury News, the History News Network, and KCBS San Francisco. He is currently writing a book on Robert McNamara's presidency of the World Bank and helping Kiva.org develop its green loans program.
