Richard Allen, associate director, Seismological Laboratory

Richard Allen is associate professor of earth and planetary sciences and associate director of UC Berkeley's Seismological Laboratory. His research focuses on natural disasters as well as the interpretation of earth structure using synthesized seismological techniques, the development of an earthquake alarm system, and assessment of natural hazard mitigation strategies in the US. He has also conducted research into verification of the comprehensive test ban treaty.
