Stephen Menendian

Before coming to the Haas Institute for a Fair and Inclusive Society, at UC Berkeley, Stephen Menendian was senior legal associate at Ohio State University's Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity.

Menendian co-authored the Haas Institute’s U.S. Supreme Court amicus brief in Fisher v. Texas, as well as an amicus brief in the 2007 Seattle/Louisville K-12 integration cases.

Menendian has trained policymakers, businesses and other institutions on diversity, inclusion, and affirmative action practices, policies, and compliance, including creative ways to improve diversity within bounds of law. He has also published a guidebook on affirmative action for policymakers and advocates, and authored "Diversity Strategies For Successful Schools Guidance," adopted by Ohio's State Board of Education in 2012. He is a frequent contributor to Race-Talk.org
