Terri Bimes, political science lecturer

Terri Bimes

Terri Bimes is the assistant director for research at UC Berkeley's Institute of Governmental Studies and a lecturer in the Charles and Louise Travers Department of Political Science.

She is completing work on The Metamorphosis of Presidential Populism, which examines the evolution of presidential rhetoric beginning with Andrew Jackson. Her previous publications have examined presidential rhetoric, divided government and the 2000 presidential election.

Bimes teaches courses on the American presidency and political development, and has written commentary for CNN.com about the role of evangelical voters in the 2012 Republican presidential primary.
