A professor in UC Berkeley’s Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, Armando Fox served formerly as academic director of the Berkeley Resource Center for Online Education. He is co-principal investigator in the Par Lab (one of the Universal Parallel Computing Research Centers) and the ASPIRE project, and was a founding principal investigator for the RAD Lab, putting statistical machine learning techniques to work in solving the operational challenges of large Internet systems. Fox teaches undergraduate and graduate courses and has a strong interest in the history of computing and retrocomputing.
