Amie Gordon

former grad student, psychology

Amie Gordon earned her Ph.D. in social-personality psychology in 2013 from Berkeley, where her main research interest was the processes that help and harm close relationships. She focused on three main areas of inquiry: 1) the roles that prosocial emotions, cognitions and behaviors play in helping relationships flourish; 2) whether having power over a partner influences relationship functioning; and 3) the impact of sleep on relationship functioning. She worked primarily with faculty members Serena Chen and Dacher Keltner. She received her M.A. in psychology from Berkeley and her B.A. in psychology from UCLA.
