Joe Pridmore

Cal-in-Senate fellow, student from London

Joe Pridmore is from Sheffield, England. A history major at the University College London, Joe is doing a study year abroad at Berkeley, and is spending the summer interning in the Gov. Jerry Brown's press office as a Cal-in-Sacramento fellow. Cal-in-Sacramento, part of the Robert T. Matsui Center for Politics and Public Service in the Institute for Governmental Studies, offers UC Berkeley undergrads first-hand experience in the state capital. Many Cal-in-Sac Fellows have gone on to careers in politics, government, and public service. He’s focused governance, and how culture, society and the economy affect and are affected by politics. He has also studied the role played by governments in sports, and the impact of sports on society and culture. He has studied the resurgence of West Germany through their World Cup campaign, a symbol of pride in a recently divided state and a cause for concern over the return of nationalism. And Joe has served as sports editor for Pi Media, the official University of College London student media website, and as a weekly columnist for DailyCannon.com.
