Nancy Van House

Nancy Van House is a professor emerita at UC Berkeley’s School of Information. Her current research is concerned with user-generated visual media in social media and the changing role of personal photography; and the role of social media in the lives of older adults. Her work is rooted in Science and Technology Studies (STS), which addresses the mutual constitution of technology and the social. She combines approaches from new media, visual anthropology and sociology and human-computer interaction (HCI) as well as STS.
