Rebecca Golbert is executive director of the Helen Diller Institute for Jewish Law and Israel Studies at UC Berkeley. Her expertise is in Jewish and Holocaust studies, anthropology and ethnography, and conflict resolution and mediation. Her doctoral and postdoctoral research focused on Ukrainian Jewish community and identity and Holocaust memory and memorialization within post-Soviet Ukraine. Golbert has held fellowships at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and the National Council for Eurasian and East European Research and is the recipient of an award from the International Mediation Leadership Summit of the American Bar Association. She received her doctorate in social anthropology from the University of Oxford.
