Since 2015, Sandra has served as the Associate Dean of Students and Director of the Public Service Center. For over 25 years, Sandra Bass has been a champion for social justice with professional and personal experiences cutting across sectors, issue areas, and geographies. Since 2015, Sandra has served as the Associate Dean of Students and Director of the Public Service Center at U.C. Berkeley. Prior to her appointment at Berkeley, she served as the Executive Director for Teach with Africa, as a Program Officer at the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, and as a faculty member at the University of Maryland, College Park. Sandra has co-edited three volumes and written numerous articles for academic and nonacademic publications. She holds a Ph.D. in political science from UC Berkeley and serves on the regional Board of the Jefferson Awards Foundation, the Board of the Chancellor’s Community Partnership Fund, and is a past Board Chair for the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights in Oakland.
