Our publication and comment policies

The ideas expressed on The Berkeley Blog are not necessarily those of the University; they are not official, not predictable, and not of one mind.  In keeping with the spirit of the Free Speech Movement, the thoughts here are those of the individual authors.

We invite you to join the conversation.  The ground rules for commenting, drawn from the UC Berkeley Principles of Community, are as follows:

  • Stay on topic.  We will remove posts that rant far afield.
  • Be civil and respectful of others, even if you disagree with their posts.
  • Don’t get personal.
  • We reserve the right to limit the number of comments related to election campaigns, especially if multiple comments are making essentially the same point.

The Berkeley Blog is not staffed after business hours, on weekends and holidays, and comments submitted during these periods may not be published until the next business day.
